Thalassa follows the Reiki practice developed by Mikao Usui Sensei in Japan in the early 20th century. The word Reiki combines two Japanese characters: Rei, often understood as universal or spiritual, and Ki, meaning life energy.
Reiki is based on the practice of channelling universal energy to support relaxation, balance, and a sense of wellbeing. During a session, Reiki is directed towards areas where the recipient may benefit from additional attention and support.
Reiki is a spiritual practice, but it is not a religion. It can be experienced alongside a person’s existing beliefs and is intended as a complementary practice rather than a replacement for conventional medical care.
Sessions are intended to promote relaxation, balance, and a sense of wellbeing by channelling Reiki energy.
A hands-on session conducted in the comfort of your home, using gentle touch or working in close proximity, depending on your comfort level. The session focuses on areas traditionally associated with the body’s energy centres, or chakras.
A quiet, uncluttered space is ideal. Sessions can also be conducted (weather permitting) in a quiet outdoor setting in one of Singapore’s parks.
Remote sessions begin with a short phone conversation to understand your needs. A photograph of the recipient is requested as part of the remote Reiki practice.
Remote Reiki can be particularly convenient when someone is overseas, in hospital, or otherwise unable to receive a hands-on session. Sessions are generally shorter than in-person sessions, with the duration adapted to the circumstances.
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy practice that can support relaxation, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing. Animals often respond naturally to Reiki and may choose to move around during a session, taking breaks and returning when they feel comfortable.
Animal Reiki sessions are preferably conducted in the comfort and familiar surroundings of the animal’s home, where it can feel safe and relaxed. There is no need to keep an animal still or in a particular position. Bianca remains nearby and accessible, allowing the animal to decide how closely it wishes to engage with the session.
For animals who are uncomfortable with physical touch, Reiki can also be offered without direct contact, including through distance Reiki — even when Bianca and the animal are in the same room.
Sessions are generally shorter than those for people, as animals often respond quickly and naturally to the practice. The duration is guided by the animal and its individual needs.

Reiki may be used as a complementary practice alongside conventional veterinary care for animals experiencing illness, injury, anxiety, or other challenging circumstances. It is not intended to replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
For animals receiving palliative or end-of-life care, Reiki can provide a gentle, calming presence and a sense of comfort during a particularly sensitive time. It can also offer support to both the animal and its caregivers as they navigate the final stage of the animal’s life.
Whether an animal is experiencing physical challenges, emotional or behavioural changes, or simply needs a quiet moment of relaxation, Bianca provides a gentle space where the animal can rest, feel supported, and receive Reiki at its own pace.
Learn the foundations of Reiki and begin your own journey as a Reiki practitioner.
The Level 1 course is conducted over two mornings on consecutive weekends and includes an introduction to Reiki, practical hands-on training, and the Level 1 attunements. A follow-up sharing session is held approximately 3–4 weeks later, providing an opportunity to discuss your experiences, ask questions, and deepen your understanding.
Upcoming classes will be announced on this website. If you are interested in learning Reiki, please get in touch.
Reiki Level 2 and Level 3 courses are not currently offered.
These workshops introduce participants to the practice of Reiki with animals, including cats and dogs.
The workshops are open both to existing Reiki practitioners and to people who are new to Reiki and would like to explore working with animals. Reiki Level 1 training also includes a short introduction to animal Reiki.
